The Featured Photograph is a regular series on Blind Photographers. Members of the community are invited to write or record personal context for one of their images. Today’s image comes from Mary Beth Griffo Rigby.

Lots of Fire

My first attempt at digital photography was an assortment of family and puppy shots. What a strange hobby to start with vision problems and forced retirement. Well I had the time and my daughter was always talking about Flickr and how much fun she was having uploading photos to it. I had just bought my first computer and tiny, cheap digital camera. My daughter gave me a lesson on both in the same day. My head was spinning but I was determined to succeed. A friendly Flickr member gave me advice, “go to the supermarket and photograph the flowers, they have the best lighting and a great assortment”. I went to a friendly local market and snapped away. Add a little photoshop and there you have it. My titles are inspired by my end result and just another creative ,fun part of my new found hobby. Who said “You can`t teach an old dog new tricks”?
